A special commission painted for my nan, remembering her dog Fly, one of her first and only pets who passed away many years ago.
Working from a few old photographs she kindly shared with me, I created this portrait to capture Fly’s character and warmth. The portrait is set against a traditional mottled background, using a complementary colour to bring the warmth of the fur forward.
A small painting, but one filled with memory and meaning.
