Egg
Oil on wood panel
12x12 cm
A small study of a fried egg, painted quickly and directly to explore colour, light, and simplicity. The aim was to let the paint do the work — thick, expressive strokes describing the soft whites, the rich yolk, and the subtle shifts of colour within something so ordinary.
Even the simplest subject can hold a surprising amount of colour and movement when you slow down and really look.
